Never used any , why not plain old salt ?
It would take a lot of salt and wouldnt probably be good for the lake. Any device that has a propeller or blows bubbles in to the water to churn it works.
throw a bunch of bread out there , the ducks and geese will keep it open darn son a guns
how about a bag of water softener tablets there cheap and don't think they would hurt anything that's what my neighbor uses on his drive way to melt the ice
Kitty litter?
I think he's talking about something that goes in the lake to keep the ice from damaging the dock.
have seen some subdivisions built on 10-50 acre lakes that use those bubble systems around all their docks, many even leave their pontoons tied up to the docks also--all winter, must work (as long as they don't loose power) cause they been doing it for 3-4 years now that I know of............
found one locally for $150 guess I'll have to wait for the ice to open up
