09/23 WTCC Meeting Summary

Great meeting this past Thursday night. A number of issues were addressed and decided on. Here's a quick summary...

Meeting schedule for the remainder of the year: The October club meeting will be held on the usual 4th Thursday evening (10/28). Due to the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays, the dates for the November and December meetings have been changed. The November meeting will be held on Thursday evening, 11/18. The December meeting will be held on Thursday evening, 12/16. Meetings will continue to be at 6:30 PM, at Kappis Steakhouse in Humboldt.

Nomination and election of 2011 club officers: Per the club by-laws, club elections are to be held at the November meeting. At the next WTCC meeting (10/28), we will accept nominations for the various club officer positions (President, Vice-President/Tournament Director, Secretary/Treasurer, and Information Officer/ Webmaster). Descriptions of the responsibilities for each position are listed in the club by-laws. I would encourage anyone who might be interested in serving in any of these positions, to volunteer to be added to the ballot. Members also have the option of nominating others for the positions. This will allow us to hold elections at the November meeting. This will be critical, so as to allow the incoming Tournament Director and Tournament Committee (we will need committee volunteers), to put together a 2011 tournament schedule prior to the end of the year. Please be thinking of areas where you would be willing to serve, as well as others who you might like to nominate!!! Any member wishing to volunteer or submit a nomination, that will be unable to attend the October meeting, can contact me prior to the meeting, for inclusion on the ballot.

2010 Awards Banquet: While no final decisions were made, the awards banquet was discussed. The determination was made that the banquet would be held after the first of the year, so that points accumulated during all of the 2010 tournaments and meetings could be used in tabulating the results. We also discussed various locations where the banquet might be held (suggestions welcomed). The details will be ironed out over the next few months.
