I used the search and didn’t really see an answer. I figured the MO board gets better responses anyway.
I replaced the transducer on the trolling motor last night and now the motor has no power. I really didn’t touch anything with the power to the motor and the graph actually works off the starting battery anyway.
It makes a quite humming noise and turns real slow. I mean REAL SLOW - Any ideas??
Did u by chance have the battery cables off the battery? If so its a 24v system u might wanna check to make sure you have them in series and not parallel.
It could be a weak battery too.
now you sure you didn't unhook the battery cables so you don't accidentally turn on the motor, best check. sounds like a loose cable
Does the prop shaft turn freely by hand? If not, it could be misaligned in the housing or being bound up by something.
Turns freely with no line wrapped on the shaft.
Now I'm armed with a voltage meeter. This could be dangerous!
sounds like its runing back on its self. switch the + an - and then bump it on to see if it works right. That does not work take an amp draw on the + with it all the way on. if it way high the the motor roter is bound up. Of corse make sure your Battery have a full charge also.
One battery only showing 5 volts and the problem was this little guy was only putting 5 volts out of one side
Muuuuch cheaper than needing a new trolling motor!:)
