winter time water temps
Wally, thanks for being here. What water temperature difference do you believe starts the biggest transition from winter time deep haunts to the shallows? Our local lake is around 41 to 43 degrees and the fishing is tough!:(
I was hoping u could give me a clue as to what to expect.:)

Hudnut, I wish Wally could have seen your question, because I'd like to know the answer, too. He probably doesn't get water that cold in TX. I want to get the boat out and catch some fish, but there's some warming yet to go.
I know people say you can catch them all year if you know what you're doing, but that's not my experience (and I don't claim to know what I'm doing). It'd be good to know what temp they start becoming active at.
I followed some of the Bassmaster Classic action last weekend. They said that water temps were in the 40's, and the pro's knew how to catch them (well, at least some of them knew how to catch them).
