Ladder fishing
New to me:
Attachment 37045
The way to fish Pyramid is to wade out as far as you can, and then climb up on a six foot ladder to fish. You cast out to the shelf, let your flies sink to the bottom and then strip them in.
Rest of the story is here:

There is a place where I fish where it pays off to wade out to a certain area. My legs get sore from the standing and trying to pry my feet out of the mud. I had been wanting to make me a seat but instead I think I will just get a ladder

I saw a guy on pomona lake in Kansas fishing off of a ladder several years ago.......he caught quite a few crappie while the people fishing from the bank didn't do so well. It was an interesting site to watch him.....I always figured there were probably several ladders in the water the next day.

The area I am talking about there is a certain spot or two that you need to be in that you just cant fish correctly from the bank and that is why people wade out to it. I never thought of a ladder, but I think its pretty good.

I can tell ya right now that my butt would be sore in 5 minutes.......I'll just use my boat

That is for fly fishing. They get on the ladder to get up above the water so they can cast. It would be harder to cast standing in the water.
Roland Martin had a ladder on the front of his boat so he could spot Red Fish. He eventually had a raised platform made for the front of his boat and had an extra long trolling motor shaft made for the front of his boat. EB
