I went on my 1st. duck hunt yesterday, and had geat time. I never knew there was so many ducks around southern In. Anyway I got my limit (3 woodys) now I need a good recipe to fix em with. Any suggestions ?

Wrap them in bacon and bake them in the oven and once cooked throw the duck away and eat the bacon. ;)
I think my dad used to fry them. Everyone says they don't like duck but I dig it. Same with deer. Just have to know how to cook. Let me holler at him and I'll let you know
Filet the breasts and cut into strips about 1/8 inch thick the length of the breast. Season some flour (salt, pepper, whatever you like) and coat the filet. Dip in a mixture of buttermilk and egg and roll in flour again (to get a double batter). Deep fry and serve with honey mustard. If you'll cook some lightly, they'll freeze and you can get them out at a latter time to deep fry for a quick meal with no mess. Do not overcook.
Yea I always heard it's about the same as cooking carp, only you use a board instead of bacon. Thanks guys for the advise, i think I'm gonna freeze em' for now an break em' out this winter. I'm sure they'll will taste better than a snowball no matter how there fixed.:D
I cooked a duck once, tried to do it like a turkey. Ended up playing football with it. Turst me, don't try to kick a field goal with it, you will break your foot.
I've duck hunted for many years and I believe the best way to cook them is to fillet the breast and cut in half length-wise, marinade in a little Dale's sauce and grill on low heat until they are just rare, no more than medium-rare and you can baste with a little melted butter while they're cooking. Like most wild game, the trick is to not over cook it. Cooked right, it will come out tasting like a fine steak. If you do over cook it, it will have a strong liver taste.
If that doesn't appeal to you, you can always make jerky out of them. I've done that with ducks and geese.
One of my favorite ways for grilling duck is to cut breast in strips. Then put cream cheese and jalapeno slices on the strips and wrap it in bacon. This works great with deer also.
