It should work fine,anything that resembles structure will work.

Most of the condos we've put out have been about 1 inch diameter or less and they're holding fish just fine. Build you some condos and sink them suckers!!
I have read and it has been my experience that big fish like big structure. Larger branches with some seperation tend to gather bigger fish. You can't put a 2 lb fish in a one pound container. If you are gonna use the narrow stuff.. provide some "holes" in it.
