I have the 480 for the money I think they are a great graph, my buddy also has one that he thinks highly of.
Another vote for the 480, love mine.
I have a 320..only thing I would change is I would have a 480...lol. Really is a great graph...you can't beat it for the money
I have 2 320's, one is color. Also a 480. I picked up a 640C a few weeks ago. Should have saved my money as my 480 does just as good a job. Only diffrence is color in the 640. Highly recommend the 480.
480 up front,,,797 SI at the wheel.
Love my 480 as well, glad I listened to the guys on here and spent a few extra bucks for the 480 vs. 320, the resolution is great.
480 all the way, I love mine!
:DHad a 320 up front and loved it, but sold it with the boat...great unit for the money..Im need a new unit for my new boat...It sounds like 480 is what I need to replace it with!
Bought a Hummingbird 727 after loosing a 480 (about same money). Later on, ordered another 480 to replace the 727 and made that one a portable unit to use when/if trolling. I trust what the 480 tells me ALOT more than the HB. I think they are great units for the money.
I have a 480 on my trolling motor and another mounted on my console. They are the best units I have owned.
I was told by a KY lake guide by the name of Brad Weekly, to trust what your locater tells you. After i got the 480, i saw what he was saying. Mine has such fine detail that i can see the fish in the brushpiles. If the fish are suspended, i see them and i adjust as needed to fish just above them. I can see clouds of baitfish, walleyes just under them, and perch on the bottom in 70ft water. I can also see my PVC trees that are SAID to be invisible. Adjust the settings and take the fish ID symbols off and raise the sensitivity and this unit is remarkable. Here's my tree above and below the water.

After looking at the pictures again, these were taken from my 320 unit. so you know how well the 480 will show them. Anybody have any shots they'd like to share of their 320 and 480?
After reading the posts of you guys that have the Eagle 480 I am going to get one. I have a Bottom Line up front. Bottom Line has sold out to Hummingbird. I'll be mounting my Eagle in back of of boat, using while trolling for trout, Salmon and Steelhead. I steer my outdrive from the back of boat. I have a 460 Ford for my power its a jet boat. My trolling motor or outdrive I some times call it is a 9.9 Evenrude for trolling. Thanks guys for the good review on the Eagle 480 depth Finder.
Eagle just sent me a brand new 480.and i like their service! Have for years. Years ago my first fish finder was a user friendly impulse' loved it! When fish finder's about first came out. second was an eagle and i believe i had perswaded some of the older fella's that change was good.:) They had said that the screen went out on the descp. of what happend. Now that was alright with me!!
Thanks for all the good info, and storys. I think i will go ahead and order the fishmark480, and the fishelite 480. sounds like very good equipment for the money.
Thanks everyone for the information, I too have been needing a new one and was thinking of the 480 fishelite, which has the GPS. Does anyone have any comments on the GPS part of this unit. Thanks in advance.

I would go with a gramin 76 series or colorado or oregan handheld and get two mounts...one at console and one at front of boat...that way when you go with someone else you can mark things...you don't HAVE to be in your boat. You can also take it out and use it for other things. They are GREAT units and will do you a better job than the elites will in my opinion. That way you have GPS front and back and can carry it in the house to hook up to computer. Just alot more user friendly and doesn't take up screen space on your graph. I was going to do the same until going out with Jerry Blake..he has a HB and lowrance with GPS but uses his hand held on his trips...does a GREAT job for him. Just my opinion...I love my 320 also and will be getting a 480 next time!
I too would go with a Garmin handheld due to portability. Sure is nice when you go in another boat to be able to carry your waypoints. This is my set-up, the one on right is an old GPS 72 that I have been using for quite some time, got the color bug and bought the Map 76CX but believe I like the b/w display better. Got them mounted on some SS metal so they don't turn over, just hope they don't go over or they are at the bottom.

I have both the 480 Fishmark and the 480 Fishelite. They came on the boat when I bought it this fall and both just confuse me for now.

this will allow you to play with your eagle on your computer at home...the biggest mistake I see when people are learning these is too much sensitivity. I normally run mine between 65 and 75 most of the time...this keeps alot of the clutter out of your way...you really do not need alot of power in 20ft of water....just my two cents.
Someone on here..I don't remember who, made an awsome point on setting sensitivity. Take a jig, weight, worm....whatever your fishing with..put it down into the cone of the graph...ie...right under the trolling motor about 8 feet below the transduce....don't get in the blades..lol...then start adjusting the sensitivity...you just barely want to be able to see the bait...pull it up and down and you'll see it on your graph...its quick, easy, and effective. Once you get that set you'll be alot closer to being able to see things. I start with surface clarity on low and noise reject off also. Sorry didn't mean to get all in your thread...lol. :)
I have got a 480 at the console, and a 320 up on the trolling motor. Love em both.
Bought an Eagle 480 when my Lowrance x-75 gave up the ghost. BIG improvement in resolution and power. Best bargain out there.
Ya'll keep on and I am gonna to have to buy me one.
I've had three 320's and love all of them! I'm sending the one I have now back to eagle because of a screen problem...they are GREAT to speak with...VERY polite and helpful customer service. I think I'll be getting a 480 now...wish the 480 was color but the eagle color sonar only is 320X240 I think...unless they have a new one out. :( For the money I don't think you can go wrong with the eagle.
I have a 480 and love it, but the lens over the display has developed some hair line cracks. I called customer service about repair and they said they could but it would cost $112. Kinda undecided on the repair when I can add a little to it and get a new one. Other than that the unit works perfectly
