The Pondtoon is a neat rig. Never seen one like it before
Hey Blackhawk got my eyes on one of these too couple of questions ... looking at your rails on the sides do you feel they are a little high to troll from the sides or are they about right? {2} Do you have the 14x5 or the 14x6? {3} Do you like the trolling motor mounted where its at function wise I mean? {4} Do they require you to register your boat in Alabama with no outboard, all i see is a trolling motor? Lastly if you had a chance to have something on your rig done differently what would that have been? Been talking to Old Bassin Steve Bynum gonna get me one soon. Not sure where your located in Alabama but sure would like to fish with you sometime on that rig Mitch in Tennessee
Nice boat love the high-teks sweet rig....
here is a picture of my 1990 mirrocraft with a 1996 mercury 75hp,and the second picture is with my BlueWaterLEDs turned on for nightstalking!!!

Mitch, I have the 14'x5'. I like the trolling motor where is is and yes in Alabama we have to register even with a trolling motor. If you look at the picture you will see my battery is at the back, I did this because I fish by myself 99% of the time and wanted to balance the boat a little.. I enjoy the height of my rails but I know Steve will build them to any height you want. I wouldn't change a thing on mine and it's perfect for me. I would love to try out the 14'x6' one of these days. One thing to remember is that it's a "Pond" Toon, the largest water I've fished with mine is about an 140 acre lake but I would not venture onto a big impoundment lake unless I stayed in the calmer coves. I'm located in Troy AL about 40 miles south of Montgomery AL. and about an hour from Steve's place. If your ever down this way I'll take you fishing.
Tell him Dave Smith at Troy said to give you a good deal. I hope this helps.
Strmwalker,
Just wanted to say thanks, and boat looks great!

Strmwalker,
From the looks of your rear rod rack your set up to catfish as well ? Do you also pull cranks for crappie from that rack ?
