Oh...Lord every body duck. Nice Pic Bryan
No water around here to hold any ducks.
i was on the black river yesterday and two boats came by me going to the ramp. each had two people in the boats. first one looked like had a half dozen ducks and the second had the front deck full of ducks. don't know where they were hunting. looked to be all mallards and gadwalls.

Looks like it was a fun hunt TAV. Those teal will sure eat good!!
Thanks - it was a fun one. The teal and mallards will be hitting the grill this evening!
i was back on the black river and someone was tearing the ducks up. getting a big round off every few minutes. they were doing a lot of shooting but don't know about the killin'.
Decided to give the deer a break and chase some ducks. Hawgdog and I have done pretty good the last couple of days. Sure was nice to hear the ole shotgun go boom boom boom.:D

who were the hunters that got caught last week on rainey break with over the limit, lead shells, over the limit of shells on a wma and two of them with another item that will get them in bad trouble? i understand 7 hunters were involved and several federal wardens and at least one state warden.
I have talked to a few people killing some ducks in felsenthal refuge, but not enough to make me buy my stamps.
Good day in the fields around Jonesboro. Had to wait for them to thaw out.
I heard it around 3 sisters.
i was up around datto access below corning, ark day before yesterday fishing and they were doing a lot of shooting. don't know if it was some club or on the wma and they have also been killing a lot of ducks on rainey break but two guys from out of state were threatened with a gun over a hole the other day there. locals seem to "own" the holes i guess.
Hammerhead worked last night and tonight and had to get to bed, so I got to clean them and had the wife to take a picture. He should post the 'ol tailgate picture soon

hen killer
and don't get mad at that. i joke with everyone that has pictures of hens they've killed. if'n it'd been me half or more would probably been hens. we light'em, bunch'em and kill whatever. take no prisoners and we is colorblind.
We don't discriminate. Only on those rare days when birds are really coming in we will only (try) shoot green. Only get a couple of those days a year. usually later when the season is about to end.
The "Hen Killers" (Hawgdog and I) were at it again this morning. Couldn't get any big flocks to come in just ones twos and threes. That was all we needed I guess cuse we finished up pretty quick. After working all night that means more sleep for me today.:D Here are the pictures from yesterday and today. Going to take the day off tomorrow from hunting. Hope all of yall Have A MERRY CHRISTMAS and some birds over your decoys.

I hate work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My 2 sons and 1 of their buddies and I went Christmas Eve and shot 1 teal, 2 gadwalls and 16 mallards: 14 greenheads and 2 hens, and of the 19 total, we killed 15 ducks one at a time as that was all that was coming in.
hey hawg, don't know if you've ever done it on not but here's the best fried duck recipe you've ever tasted. cut each breast into 6 pieces. i cut the breast down the middle length ways then cut it cross ways to get that many pieces. takes about 3 ducks or 6 breasts depending on how many you feed put the pieces in a bowl and pour a can of pet milk over them and let it stand for 30 min or so. take a walmart bag and pour in tollable plenty flour and about 4 table spoons of cavender's greek seasoning and shake it up good. take the pieces out of the pet milk and drop them into the walmart bag and shake them up good. have about a half to 3/4 inch of grease hot and brown good on each side and set aside when done and pour out all but about a half cup of the grease leaving the crumbs off the duck pieces in the greast. put two or three handfulls of the flour that's in the walmart bad in the skillet and brown the flour and i mean just about burn it stirring all the time till it's almost crumbles before adding the milk and stir constantly adding milk as needed till you get nearly a skillet full of the best gravy you ever put in your mouth. burning the flour is the key. and you'll have a duck meal out of this world. i used to fry up 3 or 4 ducks the night before and take it to the blind to snack on. a chef, a real chef at a duck club at gillett gave me that recipe long ago.
'
Well thank you....I sure will try it. I sho gots plenty!!
OH, you don't marinate any prior to the pet milk?

I might try the recipe on these birds.
Sorry about adding the crappie pic. got it straight now.
Duck seasons been bad for us this year. This is from the tuesday before Christmas. First time ever for ducks and crappie on the same day.

That is a good lookin stringer. Did you catch them greenheads on yellow jigs?
We didn't have any slab crappie today but did manage to shoot a few ducks on a beautiful day. Not as many flying as a week ago but it was still worth the effort. Hawgdog Jr. went with us this time. Always nice to have a youngster go with you so they can do all the work.:D Setting up for a big fish fry tonight with some friends and then watch the Hogs take care of business. What a day!

duck smorgasboard...NICE
For the last week or so we've been seeing 2 or 3 wild swans nearly every day off lower Black River. They look big as B52's. There were 2 years in a row that we saw swans in that area about 25 years ago, but these are the first ones we've seen since then. Has anybody else been seeing any, and, if so, where?
we saw a pair land i our field when we were hunting near tunica...probably came off beaver dam
Fianlly got a day off from work, to bad this was my last day to spend at the duck hole. Will be working until season is over. Thanks Bossman. The Hen Killers (also known as Hawgdog and I) had to stay after it a while to get what we did. Really didn't do any good til after 9:30 or so. Didn't turn out to bad though. We even left one for seed. Cleaned up the gun and put away the decoys. Now it is time to put one more deer in the freezer, catch some slabs and then break the gun out to chase them turkeys. Good luck to yall the rest of the season. :D
