We had 12.3 inches about 35 miles from Monroe. They had the forethought to close schools. Thank you for your concern.
Thanks for the kind words. Here in Shreveport/Bossier they closed schools as well, some businesses, and a good number of roads. Several neighborhoods have flooded, and some have voluntary evacuations due to high water nearby, with anticipation of more rain. I've got some friends (a CDC member) that have had to leave their home already. Second time in less than a year that we've had this crazy amount of rain and ruined homes/cars.
I'm particularly grateful for those emergency folk and medical professionals that make it to work anyway in stuff like this. Their importance and commitment really stand out more than normal at times like this. Thank you.
Best Wishes from Ohio also...My son and I will pray for relief and blessings to those affected!
One of my best friends "Cajun" Bill Troha just moved back to LA to work at the Air Base...and of course I know Josh's In-laws are in Monroe...Everyone please be safe!
Hopes and prayers go out to all those getting hit hard up there in north Louisiana.Be safe and careful throughout these weather conditions.
There are so many roads closed around here it's impossible to keep up with them all. Makes any trip a real challenge to find a passable route.
You guys be careful George and Scott. Prayers sent.
I was down last week fishing D'Abonne and the guage at the Hwy 2 launch was at 82'. My son sent me a picture yesterday and there was only about 6" of the pole out of the water. Mother Nature reminding us she's still the boss. Best wishes to everyone affected
Just for reference we got 16.21" of rain in like less than 48 hours!
