TN, MS, SC, IN, NC, AL, GA, and FL are all used a lot. I'll moderate MS board if you need someone.
I live and fish in Indiana so my vote is: Indiana.
I haven't posted before (been reading for months), just did on the old site to see if I could help Roberta out, but I do run another site for smallmouth bass. If no one else wants to moderate I'll do it...I'm on everyday and I crappie fish too. ;)
Bill
I think NC or Kentucky had the most activity on Crappie.com
Definitely Tenn., Ky, and Indiana
Add Florida and KentuckyQuote:

This is really edhead, I was still logged on as DonG by accident after helping him log on!
Try out the Private Message thing, top right, and I'll communicate some to you that way also.

of which there should not be anymore of anyway, since everyone has to register. But if someone does get out of hand, you can edit their posts, warn them, then let me know if they need to be banned. But really, I like to keep free speech open, and I don't like to interfere unless it does get way out of hand (rare).

There's really nothing much to do. Just keep your eye on the board, and modify/moderate very nasty posts, should they ever occur. Which is very unlikely with the new board. I'll set it up shortly.

ED, this is great. Please put Pennsylvania on the lists. There are those of us who really use this board in north western PA. Shenango Dam, Pymatuming Lake and Wilhelm are favorites. Also, when I see friends at work, or out and about who like to fish, I tell them about your site. Keep up the good work!!!
Virginia - Home of the best Crappie Lake in the world - Kerr Lake.
Just wish I could get there more often!!!
It's one of the few without a moderator yet.

How bout Texas iv'e been on crappie .com for some time & a lot of us come here to get info. I've always posted under BIGLEO but have changed to bella. glad to see you got rid of the troll. great site
Hey Roberta and Doug. What about us here in NO FISH LEFT in OHIO!!!!!
Just for chuckles!
Rick.
I hear every other state what about NY. I live in Central NY and can catch crappies in just about any body of water here.
I know you guys are asking about boards for the other States, and I'm willing to add them, but I'd just like to have a moderator for the boards I add. Although the new boad should prevent garbage/spam posts, I'd still like to know someone is watching them. So, if someone wants a board added, and want's to moderate, I'll add it.
Bella, I sent you a Prrivate Message asking you about moderating for Texas.
And thanks everyone. You alll have been great. I never knew we had so many active visitors on the site. The member count is up to 182 and climbing.
Hey Ed,
I am on the site every day a couple times a day. If you need someone to moderate Ca, I can do it. Just let me know what needs to be done.
Mike
[B]Ed, you are doing areal fine job for all us crappie fisherman bringing all of us togther. I would like to see Missouri as one of the states on the board. Thanks very much.
I like to read about Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois.
Roger
How about adding Virginia in there?
We've got tons of fisherman out here. Most are saltwater but there are lots who like to freshwater fish too.
OK Ed, make me a mod. Been a mod on yahoogroups before, and understand what you will expect of us. I mentioned 3 lakes, in my previous post. If people are looking for a place to fish for crappie and don't mind traveling. Shenango Dam holds the state record right now for the biggest crappie. It was some where around 20 inches, but can't remember just what it was. This lake is also unlimited for motors, except for in one area of the lake. Happy Fishing ;)Quote:

FreeFlow, if you want me to add VA, would you be interested in being a moderator on that board?
Also if I'm not mistaken, KY, FL, AL and GA don't have moderators yet. Any volunteers?

Ohio gets used alot. My vote is for OHIO!
Moderator 'eh?
Well, I know how to post a message in a forum and that's about it.
What kind of things does a moderator do?
Just for my curiousity and for anyone else that may want to know.
Brian

- or personnal attacks,
- or "over board" blatant advertising,
- or "off topic" advertising (Viagra type stuff)
When it does happen you can do a couple different things. Change the message to delete or replace the offensive language. As a moderator, you can modify posts on that board. It is logged that the post was modified by the moderator, just so everyone is made aware.
You can post on the board to tell the offender to "play nice".
And/or you can contact me to ban the user.
But, my guess is that we'll never have to do so. Until very recently, the "open" Crappie.com board has been clean, Crappie fishermen are a friendly sort, as you all know. The worst things that have happened used to be the "Viagra" posts. Till you know when!
