I sure it put up a fight and was a lot of fun. I've caught cats on plastic worms, jigs, and crank baits. None that big though.
Looks like some good eating I would have released it a little at a time in lake crisco hehe
RELEASED!?!?!?! Gonna make some folks cry their eyes out! Good catch!
That would have been good in the fryer.
I don't do bottom feeders! My customers didn't like catfish either. It would of fed them for a week though!
bottom feeders? A flattie is the PEAR OF THE RIVER dude. That meat there is better than ANY other fresh water fish in my eyes. THEY ONLY EAT LIVE FISH. Hence the eyes on top of their head. They arn't like a Blue or any other cat out there. He tastes UM UM GOOD!!!!
I would have had some hat sauce and a hot skillet ready for that one. Nice catch.
i once got a 6 1/2 pd bass on a ultralight with 4 pd XL and a 1/32 jig. I never thought i would land it put i did and i was also released. :)
Nich catch Jason, it goes to show that you are a versitle guide that knows how to keep things poppin. Your customers seemed very happy but the boy looked like he was wore out.
