45 minute Dink fest
Dropped my wife off for PT and drove over to the boat ramp at lake Kedron through a light rain shower .
Showed up at 11:00 with of and on light rain showers .
I took my 5’5” Daiwa Tsukiza Beauty Aging Rod , paired up with a Shimano Sienna 500 , spooled with Daiwa J-braid .
My jig was a 4mm Tungsten bead on a size 12 Mustad Streamer hook . Plastic today was a 1” Mister Twister Lil’ Bit curly tail in black .
Second cast caught one the bigger gills of the 16 gills I caught , plus a tiny LM bass .
Just as my alarm on my phone went off at 11:45 , it started raining harder and by the time I reached my car my back was almost soaked.
A couple of the little gills had some color , most were still in juvenile colors .
The Daiwa Aging rod performed great . Very sensitive, I felt every little tap . I could easily feel the less than .5g jig as I swam the curly tail back .
Most of the time it wouldn’t move very far before I’d feel a tap .
The J-braid didn’t work as well on the old Sienna as it does on my other reels .
I experienced 3-4 wind knots . It could have been the wind that caused them , but a couple times I found the line below the roller instead of in the roller .
The reel was swapped out when I got home for a Daiwa Fuego LT1000 .
It matches better anyways .
A fun forty five minutes.

I’d have been happy with that myself. Thanks for taking me along.

Happy for you. Wish I had a spot to have a so called dink fest. I love just feeling those taps.
