Windy Crappie
Temps got down around forty last night with a front coming in behind the heavy rain we had the night before last.
With the front came the wind , 17mph with gusts over 35 .
I waited until after lunch to give it a try after it had warmed up to around sixty .
The lake was full pool and muddy . The wind coming in from the west was blowing straight in on me for almost the entire shoreline that’s available for bank fishing , making it almost impossible to fish .
I wound up on the northern most end of the area which has a wooded point that helped a little at breaking the wind .
I had little hope of catching anything , but lady luck was on my side .
In a little over an hour I manage to catch four crappies using my tungsten bead jigs with a shortened TM .
I was using my 6’ St Croix Premier UL paired with a Shimano Sienna 500 reel spooled with blue Daiwa J Braid X8 and 4# Floroclear.
I would have stayed longer but when I went to sit on my fishing stool I missed and sat hard on the rocky bank . I hit hard enough for my Apple Watch started calling 911 .
Just a little sore , probably be more sore tomorrow.

Ouch. That doesn’t sound pleasant. Glad wasn’t any worse. Nice catches.

Glad you caught some on a hind end kind of day. Thanks for sharing

Congrats on your catch. Sorry to hear about the accident. At our age it does hurt more than a few years back for sure.

Well at least it it only basically hurt your pride and not your wallet or bones ….
Might ice the bruise down and sit on a soft pillow ….
The new KABOOM, done it more than once myself

Nice and you were dealing with some bad conditions. Bank fishing can be challenging, and I hear you on falls. As AH said, we don’t recover as fast as we once did.

PS Nice selection of TMs

Nice catching fish like that in challenging situations. If you fish enough you're bound to take a tumble or three. I know I'm not the man I used to be, getting clumsier and always dropping things or bumping into things. Always have new bruises and wonder when did I do that? We older folks need to slow it down more.
