I usually don't get into good shellcracker until late March and early April. This year is different; everything in my part of the world is far ahead of schedule. Here's just a few from today; had one hog shellcracker.

Very nice! Our ornamental trees are already flowering here in Ohio. Hoping to get out for the first time this year in the next couple of weeks myself.
Nice crackers!
We are having the same thing happen here. We went two days ago and actually caught a couple of really nice gills.
My favorites. I can usually tell when I get one on before I can see it. Have to work today but may get out tomorrow morning and hit their regular haunts. Those in the pic are just right.
I wonder how early spring warm up will be next year. My ice fishing gear may become historical relics. We had high 60's two days ago, but snow forecast later today. Get after them when you can. Those look like some fun fish to catch, kind of like our northern sunfish on steroids!
Good looking fish.

our redbuds and several other flowering trees and plants are already done and turning green .
for sure everything seems to be on a month or so ahead of time schedule right now
man that one redear is a BEAST ! congrats bro :highfive
Nice shell cracker. Was on water 4 days ago and water temps were 58 on surface. Caught two 11 inch bass from about 15 feet deep. They didn’t fight much and they felt like an ice cube. Will try again Wednesday.
