Lochloosa lake is on fire
IF you know what your doing. Bymo has been here and wanted to give it a go. So we drove up already had minnows but bought worms hoping to get into brim, specs and shell crackers.
We hit the lily pads hard shallow, where we caught ours and then in 5 FOW middle of pads. Saw a lot of boats out in the pads and longlining in lake itself and only 1 fish we saw caught. Bymo caught a good eating catfish. We moved closer to shore to hit pads and trees and I got bit hard but missed with worm on then I caught decent bg. Moved to other side of lily pad and BAM big spec thumped and I landed it on a worm. Put minnow on and orob3d around but nothing.
We moved down edge of pads dipping edges but only had one bite no ketch.
Big storm coming cut off our day but when we hit ramp saw couple guys cleaning so of course I headed up to find out how they did after our frustrating day.
THEY had the sink full you will see here with 35 really big specs. They had caught 30+ two previous days and also got into crackers and brim. Would like to take credit but only for the pics and information.
Simply got out on edge of pads or 20 feet in. Minnows were the ticket and moving till u found them. Were from GA and were leaving that afternoon.
If your in FL u should consider coming to this old Florida fishing camp. Has everything. Diner, store and bait, slips, cabins, camping w water and hookups, ramp and can even get grass shrimp close by. We are heading to Naples area or we would come and stay there. Including pics of area.
Lake is not far from Gainesville. You don't have to go far from ramp.
