I went fishing with my buddy Lowe at Lake Wedowee for about 7 hours starting to learn dock and brush pile fishing. We caught around 70 (1 spotted bass thrown back) and kept 54 crappies and a bluegill. I also got my first magnolia crappie (also called black nosed crappie). Had a great time and it is the most I have ever caught! My wife told me not to come back home with another fish unless I get a freezer or another fridge/freezer :Rofl There was about a 30 minute window in the afternoon that crappie really started biting. Some of them smoked it but Lowe said not on fire yet.
Thanks again Lowe!
I am now gonna start journalling my trips so I can reflect on it during different seasons. I am not sure how well it will work or how well I will keep up with it (HA!) but want to try. Does anyone else do this?

Awesome trip!!! Best marked up black nose I've ever seen both top and bottom! That was way cool. Congrats. Yea, Lowe definitely knows how to shoot those docks down there.

Great job catching them.
I use the Anglers Log app on my phone, and have been since mid 2020, it a great app that has all the right info already there, you just fill in the blanks, then at the end, there is a notes section where I add specific info I want to remember. it's a little tough to navigate at first, but once you get the hang of it, its easy.

Awesome trip! Wedowee is fun lake to fish I have some good memories there. It’s a lot of fun to really start figuring the crappie out where you fish.
I began journaling my trips as of last year as part of a test to see if the moon phase affected my trips and in my short time of logging this information I have found that the bite has always been more productive on the week leading up to a new moon on into the new moon. Don’t get me wrong some of my full moon week trips produced some nice stringers as well but I prefer the new moon.
Look forward to reading about some more of your adventures part of the fun is being able to read about old trips along with the pictures.
