Another after work trip, 7-15
Yesterday after work I packed things up again and headed to a different pond to try my luck. 82 at waters edge and the surface water temp was 80 with a slight breeze from the WSW when I launched at 5:30. I trolled 3 lines as usual and it took nearly half an hour to find the first fish, an average bluegill of perhaps 7".

This fish would be the model of most of my catch for the trip; it was a bluegill sort of trip. I was able to cast and retrieve once that little breeze died down but things were slow once again. Never got in to them on a regular basis, just here and there catching.
I did manage to jig up one crappie, a nice 12" fish, the only one of the night.

The last fish of the night came while trolling back toward the launch along the weed line in 16' of water. Just after I snapped this picture he began flopping around and broke me off in the boat and I called it a night right at 8. This pickerel measured out about 18".

It was a wonderful night to be out on the water, low humidity and falling temps made for comfortable conditions. Total for the trip would be about a dozen average gills and the one each crappie and pickerel. All were returned for another day.
