Got into a mess of Jesup fryers....
But we had to work for them. Met up w/Andy aka/Crappieday @ daybreak & it didn't take long before a few rods bent, however, I acknowledged to Andy beforehand that this was a scouting trip & I usually don't fish Jesup this time of yr, soooo didn't know what to expect & kept trolling open water & the bite slowed. Picked up rods & went to spot #2, couple more for the box, but no concentration. Spot #3 being on the radar we manage another 6 for the box, kept fish over 11"...W/biggest 13 3/4" today. So now the wheels start turning & we decide to fish the original spot @ daybreak, but find nobody home. Now it's 11:30 & we have 10 or so fish, look @ Andy & ask if he's feeling like a trooper to try 1 last spot....well that's when the hammer fell & we added another 16 to the box in 1 1/2 hr with plenty more throwbacks. Coincidentally, Andy brings up to the boat the "Big" fish of the day in this spot, although it was as Andy says (a stink'n Gar), :Rofl sorry buddy couldn't let that 1 slide....the trip ended on a high & thank you Andy for the company....til' next time tight lines all!
