Sold my boat !
I RECENTLY SOLD MY BOAT, ABOUT THE FIRST OF THE YEAR. I GUESS I HAVE MISSED IT. I MISS BEING ALONE WITH MY THOUGHTS AND TALKING TO"THE BIG MAN". I HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED GOING BY MYSELF. ONLY ONE YOU HAVE TO SATISFY, IS YOURSELF. YOU CAN FISH WHERE YOU WANT, STAY AS LONG AS YOU WANT,AND IF YOU CATCH ANY THAT IS A BONUS. IF NOT,THE ONLY ONE THAT YOU HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO IS YOUR SELF,AND I'M NOT HARD TO PLEASE. I STILL HAVE DREAMS OF GOING, WHICH IS THE PART I LIKE BEST. OF COARSE AT 80 I GUESS THERE IS A SAFETY FACTOR,FISHING ALONE. I MISS THE SCENERY, BEING IN HIS WORLD AND SEEING THE WONDERS THAT ARE ALL AROUND . WE HAVE HAD SOME WEATHER THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE FISHED ANYHOW. I HAVE FRIENDS THAT WILL STILL TAKE ME FISHING AND I CAN STILL FISH OFF THE BANK. IT WANT BE THE SAME, BUT BETTER THAN NOT GOING AT ALL. I STILL LOVE READING THE POST AND KEEPING UP WITH EVERYONE. WILL STILL SUBMIT POST IF I CAN BE OF ANY HELP AND THANKS FOR STILL KEEPING ME UP TO DATE.

Funny, I bought a boat last month from an 80 year old man. I saw him a couple of weeks later and he said he bought his first boat in 1962 and has had one or more ever since, until now. He said he felt naked without a boat but didn't think he would buy another one. He looks and moves like he's 10 years younger so he may yet decide to get back into boat ownership. He kind of talked like it despite some words to the contrary. LOL

As sad as it is, there comes a time in our lives that we must let things go. I commend you on putting your safety over your love for fishing and enjoying the outdoors. It's time to move on to a new chapter in your life. Fish with your friends, I'm sure they will be bless with your company, and bank fish to just sit and enjoy the little things of life. The memories will live on and you will enjoy them even more now that you're land bound. And most of all be thankful for all the wonderful years that you did get to enjoy God's great planet.
