Anyone fishing West Point having any luck? I fished about 4 hours Saturday and a couple of hours today and can't find them... Been trolling Beech Creek, Dixie Creek and Jackson creek. Fished a few brush piles and only caught a few dinks.

Since Memorial day, the wife and I had done very well fishing the railroad bridge on the river channel. Slip bobbers at 20' were producing 15-29 fish every Saturday and Sunday until last weekend. The bite slowed there considerably and it didn't get any better this past Saturday. I went out Sunday morning at sunrise and found a brush pile in a cove upriver from the water intakes for Lagrange and Troup county. Fishing 10' deep with a slip bobber, it seemed every other cast put one in the boat. A lot of dinks, but I came home with 17 fish between 10" and 14". It was still going strong at 12:30 when I ran out of minnows. I'll be back this weekend.
when you run out of minnows try a jig no cork let it to bottom and ease up pausing with a twitch. watch line on drop for a faster fall or side movement .
use a little slab sauce.
Deep brush in coves and on river channel bends have some fish. Don’t overlook the docks that are on the water. Especially ones with 15 fow. I found a few under a dock on Yellow Jacket that were 10’ down in 15 fow. Bobby Garland jigs tipped with nibbles produced enough for dinner. Had to be moving and they were out in front of the dock with it being overcast Saturday. Normally with bright sun, they stay under the floats. Hope this helps, and post some pics of dem big ol Hand Kandys!
Thanks to you all! I'm going to try the bridges and docks next trip, still have a hard time finding brush piles... In your opinion, is spider rigging and long lining a waste of time as the weather gets hotter?
fishing-preacher,
I love to spider rig but with the boat traffic on the lake, I don’t because of the waves and rough conditions. I personally go into a vertical presentation for the deeper fish schools with jigs and minnows. When the temps drop, and the pleasure boaters retire, I’ll return to pushing and pulling. Tight lines to ya and see ya on the water.
