Whatever version is available on the HB website for the G1 will most likely be the last version for that series ... (G1 is two versions past now) ...

Dang it! I was afraid you were going to tell me that, Rickie! I said I was through upgrading Birds, but I guess I'll have to upgrade to a G2 on my Helix 7 SI.
The last update for the Gen1 Helix 7 SI model was in 2016 (version 7.780). The newest equivalent model would be a Helix 7 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G3 or G3N model.
