Alright all you crank pullers - what line do you like to use?
I know everyone has their own opinion, so when you respond with what you use, please add your reason if you don't mind:)

30# Power Pro Hi Viz yellow braid. 30# cause it's equivalent in diameter to 10# mono so depth charts are still accurate. Hi Viz so I can see my line, and braid because it's more durable and stronger then mono. We catch a lot of cats pulling cranks and the serrated fins can eat up mono filament fairly easily , plus most times can bend a hook on a hangup as opposed to breaking off and losing the bait.
Have used several of them, fireline metered, power pro, lead core, and mono.
Lead core is handy in that you don't need to let out much line to achieve the depth that you want. I seldom go longer than 100 ft. It also snakes behind the boat quite nicely making turns easy. However, it is quite literally like fishing with steel cable, the diameter is very big, and requires a big reel to hold a decent amount of it.
Fireline metered works just fine. I have no qualms with it. Nice and thin, no stretch, perfect amount of memory. No line counter required.
I like using mono, not sure why but it seems to catch more fish for me, I think it has something to do with the stretch. If you do not have a pretty limber rod or the drags set super light, you will lose a lot of fish on braid, the lure gets ripped away before the fish can get a good bite on it.
I’ve been using 10# Vicious Hi Vis for several years. Been pretty happy with it

powerpro hi vis.....easy to see and it is tough....loose a lot less baits......
I use Kast King Mono in 10#, very good line. Stren 10# gold is my second choice, it was brought up above, Braid will tear jaws out of crappie, with no stretch! My 2cts!
Berkley XT 12# in either high/low vis green or clear...........use it from Wisconsin to Missouri with no issues whatsoever (minus the sturgeon I hooked on Lake Winnebago).

I'll second everything that Snubby said. Hi Vis is fine except for some reason I do not think Power Pro Hi Vis casts as good as regular green. I troll with one ten foot pole that doubles as my slip cork rig...it has 10lb power pro, and two poles that I also use for channel cat...and they have 10 pound mono on them. If your gonna dedicate rigs just for trolling cranks I would use braid.
I use 10 lb mono...high vis yellow
