Anyone had problems with their EZ Trac Trailer made in Arkansas? Bought a 2014 EZ-Trac aluminum trailer and tire was wearing really bad. Took it in to a local marina for a new tire and they discovered the torsion axle was welded at an angle and wearing out the tire. They pointed out several other things that were very alarming and suggested I did not drive trailer on interstate. I thought they were trying to sell me a new trailer, so I took it to a reputable marina several miles away for a second opinion. They were more opinionated in pointing out poor craftsmanship and problems than the first dealer! Told me that if I valued by boat, to get it off the trailer right away and not to tow the boat anywhere. Pointed out areas of stress where aluminum had flexed and was about ready to break. Pointed out the winch was mounted at a slight angle due to the trailer being out of spec, which was causing the winch strap to wear. Also pointed out several welds that had cracked on trailer and suggested that I did not use step on fender to get in and out of boat. I could not believe that a company this incompetent would still be in business. I limped home, and later that evening got on the internet and logged onto EZ Trac's website and sure enough, they are still in business.
Now, I'm searching for a new trailer for my boat. I've learned a valuable lesson and now want to make sure I buy something quality next time around. Anyone have any suggestions? With three children, I really cannot afford to spending another two or three thousand dollars, but I have no choice. I cannot morally sell this trailer to anyone else. Scrap trailer? Open to suggestions.
