Ducer mounting ideas?
I just received my up graded ducer for my Bird on the bow. I have the standard ducer installed currently. My tmotor is stubby. Not long like the newer models. This is the option I came up with to mount the standard ducer, the new HDSI ducer is about half again longer and a different mount Any suggestions? And no there is not enough room to mount like the HDSI is designed for. Thank you in advance.
Current setup.

Looks like you got a job on your hands there. But here is how I would start, get a 12 in peice of 3/4 PVC, cut you a slot in one end that would fit over that skegg. Then put a good wide as you can find hose clamp around it and motor housing about where that wire tie is. Then mount the trans ducer and bracket to that kind of out front of motor housing. Then cut any excess PVC off the end. Install a 90 degree elbow and a short piece of PVC into that pointing straight down long enough to protect transducer from under water objects. Then if it works and you work out any bugs and make adjustments I would then fab it up or have fab bed up out of aluminum bar stock. Then once you get that done I'd drill a hole through the slot and skag and install a smal bolt for support.

Cray has a great idea using the existing TM configuration. I would measure everything and see if you can trim that skeg back enough to install your new transducer with the factory mount. Just another idea. Good luck.

I have a pontoon boat. Very restricted spots to mount ducers. I wound up taking a length is 1 1/2" PvC and attaching the male portion of a vblock.on it with screws. Then I mounted the female part of the vblock to my boat. I've used it this way for 8 years with no problems

When I ran a Terrova on my last boat I ran one of these. You can mount it anywhere convenient on the bow and it only takes a few seconds to to put the shaft in the mount.
