Summertime tough
Yes, I know. I know most everyone describes summertime crappie to be the most difficult versus spring and fall but I thought I could just work harder to find them. It appears my biggest limitation is I have not learned enough about side imaging on my Helix 10. I see good structure and white dots (smile) but then try to turn to them and find them on traditional Sonar and downview but it seems hit or miss. I just need to practice more. We caught 11 on Lake LBJ yesterday and a half dozen on Lake Austin this morning. Some are nice size.

I wouldn't say your biggest limitation. I would say your greatest strength is beginning to "learn" what you are looking for and how to translate that in to higher productivity. Nothing should be more satisfying that looking at that screen, identifying something, finding it again, and catching fish off of it. Sometimes you catch one, sometimes 100 but not every piece of structure will hold a ton of fish!
Remember, your idea of bad fishing might be someone elses idea of great success.

Wow! What a motivating reply! Helps me realize that the time I spend practicing is worth the trade off of not fishing. I have really had the greatest enjoyment in my fishing life going to crappie fishing over all other types in previous decades. Thanks a lot for your supportive post.
