High winds today, soooooooooooooo, I tied up a couple of critters to try tomorrow. First powder painted ones with dipping in the vibrating cup. Also, my first eyeball fitted. Eyeballs are a pain in the tootoo (cause I don't know how to do it yet).

I paint eyes by using regular hobby paint. I use the butt end of a small hobby paint brush cut off square to paint the bigger part then a straightened out paper-clip to paint the "pupil". I just dip the tool into the paint and dot the jig. I lay them out on an old baking sheet, paint the outer part, let them dry (not long at all), turn them over and do the other side.
Tom, I take a bodkin, which is a needle with a handle, and lift the eye on the tip of the needle and position it, push it around, flip it off onto the floor, start again, then get one in place before I push down hard on it to make it stick. A thin coat of 30 minute epoxy will hold em there til a tree needs em more than you do. Both of those look really slick. That pink one will definitely hunt!
What has already been said about filling the gap and so on is spot on. And close counts. We all know the fish don't care.
Keep after it Tom, they look better all the time.
I placed the eyes in position with my scalpel, then glued 'em by lifting the edge. Clumsy crafting.
At one time in my life I decided to be a doctor, but the buzzer kept going off when I tied to remove the funny bone. The patients nose turned red too. This is why I took up fishing.

Mr tom, don't fill up the eye holes. He's talking about painting eyes on.
3D eyes, just a spot of super glue jel inthe socket.
It won't come off.
You did it all right.
The jigs are excellent. Fish em.

3D eyes, ok. However, I have a couple of them hiding on the floor somewhere and starring up me dress.:yikes
Also, somebody stole the day part of my post title.:scratchhead
On gluing in eyes I use the Loctite brush super glue and I put as small amount of the glue as I can and then I use my bodkin to handle the eye to place it with help from a finger. Then my bodkin has an open end that I use to push the eye on tight. I am not the best or fastest at eyes. If using heads with no socket I like to use vinyl paint and just use some drill bit flat end to out the eye on and if a two color eye just use one smaller to do the pupil on. I figure Roadrunners have been around for ever and work well using just one Black eye so why not just stick a Black dot of Vinyl paint on and let it dry? That is easiest way for painting and eye on, but just not fancy!
