Why can't I see pics?

I'm new to the forum but am a member of several others and this is the only one I have issues with. If there is a pic posted in a thread, I only get "attached images" with an attachment icon, but can't see the actual image. Is there a setting to make images appear?

This is in Safari, on an Apple device, btw. Thanks for any help.

Click "Settings" at the top right ...

Then choose "General Settings" from the list on the left ...

Scroll down to "Thread Display Options" ..

Make sure "Show Images" is checked ...

Click "Save" at the bottom of the settings page ...

I'd been through all I that, before I posted, and everything was set correctly. I switched from mobile to full site format and now I can see images. I suppose it's something to do with the mobile format.
