Surprise catch.

You should try this out on a 10 foot BnM ultralight with 8 lb test line. Caught on a 1/32 crappie jig orange and chartreuse. It would not fit in the dip net. We slid a rope up its tail and cinched it behind its head to get it in the boat. Weighed 26 lbs. Still alive in a pond with lots of dumb bream and small channel cats. They may be dinner in a few days.

Goodnight. How long did you have to play that cat?

What a battle that must have been!

Done it....was a blast! Caught a 24 pounder on a 10' bgjp with six pound test line many years ago. Was casting jigs and cork in arkabutla spillway.

Hey Feelay, what about that spoonbill you caught in the lower lake of Sardis about 6 years ago spider riggin.I don't know what it weighed but it was long as your leg.

Been there. I hooked one that big or bigger last summer on a crank and ended up breaking not only the crank it hit but also another crank it wound up in. I wasn't real happy about that.
Buffalo13 caught, weighted, photoed and released a 50+ pound flathead on KY Lake 2-3 years ago while 2 poling with 6 pound mono.
A buddy of mine caught a 70+ pound blue cat on a crankbait several years ago on Lake Jackson in GA during a club tournament. Took him over an hour to net it. We weighed it on club scales and released it.
