Cormrants
Several lakes around the state have huge flocks (in the 100's) of Cormrants . They are eating fish and injuring them like crazy daily. Even Crappie well over a pound showing up with cuts from these birds . When are they going to be removed from protected statis ? Right now about 10% of bigger Crappie have injuries on them that I catch. I sent this to AGFC but maybe some biologists can address this . The numbers seem to increase every year . They can have an impact on fish numbers in my opinion .

I hate them birds. They will destroy a fishing hole quick when a flock of em move in.

I have a friend that minnow farms for a living. He harvests 1/3 of his crop every year, the other 2/3 is taken by predation. He told me of that 2/3 he thought 75% was cormorants. I've always been amazed by that

Not less than 2000 birds in the flock I saw working the west end of Dardanelle. Looked like a big flock of snow geese feeding as they jumped over each other feeding across the lake. I guess the eagle that was in the area was there for a reason.
I heard they taste like a cross between chicken and tuna, but I cannot verify that. I just know that I'm anxious to try some "cormorant salad" on toast just as soon as they become legal.

I heard they taste like Ivory Bill. Dems tasty!!!!!
