Da Ducer Apparatus V3.0
My ultimate, dream crappie setup- is now complete. Went and seen my buddy Rickie Saturday, and he finalized the masterpiece setup.
It was 3 years in the making, and I had to piece it together, one component at a time, as I could afford it. In August 2017, I went to visit Rickie for the 1st time. That’s when he installed my original Da Ducer Apparatus. At the time, the sole function was to get my Helix Down Imaging transducer off my Minn Kota electric steer trolling motor, to prevent the cables from wrapping around the shaft. With the intent to add 360 later. It worked great.
In November 2018, visited Rickie again, and Da Ducer Apparatus V2.0 was born. Added Humminbird 360 along with the Down Imaging transducer. Ah, the ability to get precisely lined up on brush piles- whether it be to long line troll, pull cranks, or to vertical jig over them. How could it possibly get any better? ...
But then, I eventually saw a video of Garmin Livescope. Then I made the mistake of fishing with a buddy who had livescope on his boat. And I knew I had to have one.
This past Saturday- February 29, 2020 it all came together when Rickie modified my Da Ducer Apparatus, yet again, into a Rotatable Shaft version with the Humminbird 360 Add on bracket. Now my Livescope & 360 are on 1 mechanism, separate from my trolling motor. The livescope can be turned & rotated, and the 360 is stationary.
The purpose of this post was to let anyone that is interested in any of Rickie’s products, know that I highly recommend him. His username on crappie.com is Rvinc. His website is www.podunkideas.com
- You won’t find a nicer, more knowledgeable guy when it comes to boat electronics.
- His products are top notch and work great.
- Every time I went to see Rickie, to have something else done, he had to do modifications & customizations to make it work on MY boat- and he did so willingly. He has the knowledge, expertise, and machinery to make it work!
I went to the lake today, to test it out. It’s awesome! I didn’t get any pics while on the water. The 20+ mph winds and 50 or so bass boats buzzing around made boat control difficult. It didn’t stop me fishing! But fishing & taking pics would’ve been tough. I will try to get pics of it in action, on the water next time.
Here’s some pics of Da Ducer Apparatus on the boat. I also stacked Helix 10 & Garmin 93 on a Cornfield Crappie Double Mount.
And a cooler shot from today. Baits- anything black & chartreuse, on 1/4 oz chartreuse jigs.

Note: da’ducer apparatus add-on bracket for the Humminbird 360 accessory normally attaches to existing da’ducer apparatus - such that the 360 is oriented in front of (and above) the rotatable LiveScope xducer ...
Justin wanted his entire setup to be under his trolling motor when the trolling motor is stowed - so I mounted the 360 add-on bracket to the side of his existing da’ducer apparatus ...

I have bought two of his transducer fixtures and I can tell you that they are of the best quality, engineering possible. This May I will be adding a 360 mega and I will be looking to buy a mount for it from him again.

A plus to the da-ducer bracket for my fishing is I do not have to deploy the electric trolling motor to use it. I like having the bracket separate (with the HB 360) from my terrova. On the terrova I have the panoptix PS-31 forward view transducer mounted on the bottom of the motor housing. This allows me to scan by turning the terrova, the scan is always pointed where I want to go. When back trolling I do not have the bow mount trolling motor deployed and then use the vantage on the back. Right now I lower the da-ducer bracket with the 360 and have it in isolated view/sweep towards the stern, my view is 120' back minus the length of a 20' boat. Am contemplating adding the 2nd da-ducer bracket off the stern straight from starboard gunwale with a 2nd 360 for rear view. Like it for showing points, weed lines etc when back trolling. But while back trolling ones hands are full, fishing rod in one hand and the tiller handle in the other so with the HB seeping behind the boat on its own could be invaluable. Will see
