J & D Slab Madness Series 2013
2011 - 2012 Season Results
J & D Series for 2013 started at Lake Blackshear with some great weather for February. Water temps ranged from 53-58 with the North end of the lake being mostly stained from recent heavy rains. The South end remained mostly clear but with a good color. The majority of the crappie had not moved out of the channel to the spawning creeks, but there were some larger fish on the deep flats immediately off the river channel. Nineteen teams competed with many new teams coming out for their first tournament. Always nice to see the kids out too. Quite a few teams came from a long ways from Cordele, GA.
Jamie and I want to give a big THANK YOU to Scott and Billy Williams for stepping in to help with the weigh-in. They were not able to fish in the tournament, but wanted to help with the weigh-in. They did an awesome job running the weigh-in. We appreciate their dedication to helping make Slab Masters a successful tournament trail.
First place honors went to D. Grantham and J. Sapp with a total weight of 8.92 lbs and also a Second place big fish of 2.14 lbs. They long line trolled the mid lake river channel and river flats.
Second place went to R. Bartlett and D. Mead with a total weight of 7.80 lbs.
Third place was J. Little and B. Little and L. Pittman with a total weight of 7.62 lbs and also took First place big fish with a slab weighing 2.20 lbs. Bringing a youth to fish with this team made it even better.

Exactly. Between Lick Ck boat ramp and the red light for 44 and Old Phenoix Rd. They got bait, breakfast, gas, and a bunch of other stuff. Plenty of parking too.
