I haven't been this year but I would probably try long lining right now. I'll be there in a few weeks for my yearly spring break trip. I've done well I Stroud creek this time of year. I probably start in 16ftw and work my way shallow.

My last trip was Saturday. Fish were still deep at 12 -15 ft in 20-25 ft water. Water temp was right at 60 degrees which made me think some will be trying to come in shallow. Next weekend until full moon fish should be shallow at times. Cold temps Tuesday and Wednesday should not make much of a difference.
Double 1/16s at .8 worked for me or 3/32 with #7 split shot for my shorter back poles. I would vary my speeds as well since fish move. If temps rise by next weekend everything will change.
I talked with a couple a few weeks back they but me on some fish 27 to34 fow over tree tops

Temps have changed a lot in a few weeks. Saturday was 59.5 degrees before lunch in the middle of the creek. Last Monday same place the temp was 56.5. May have gotten a little warmer later that afternoon. I left early. Definitely the temp will be even warmer on the bank. 70 degree forecasts for Next Saturday will move the fish. Heard some reports that fish were being caught in 5-10 ft water.
They were in 4-6 ft of water up the river arm this weekend.
I fished river arm and my friends fished Wilson. Had another good report from Dixie. Water temp 56 to 58. Most fish still in 12 to 15. Got my limit both days and quality of fish was very good.
