HDS7 no side scan

I moved my HDS7 Touchscreen to a new boat and I can't get the sidescan to work. I have the 83/200 455/800 transducer and a separate LSS 2 transducer mounted on opposite sides of the transom.
I spent an hour on phone with Lowrance tech support to no avail.
When I go through the installation screen to select a transducer the LSS2 does not show up as an option. Lowrance says the unit is not recognizing the side scan being connected. What puzzles me is it list about 20 other transducers including the regular 83/200 455/800 that is for the 2D/DI function. So if the unit has to recognize that transducer where did all the other types it list come from? I believe the unit comes with preloaded selections.
The tech guy was new and had to put me on hold numerous times to get helo, but he tried.
This unit worked fine on the other boat with both transducers so I feel like we are missing something here.
We went through unplugging and replugging and restore defaults, etc. but nothing worked.
Any ideas fellows??

PS: this is Generation 2 unit.

If I remember correctly.....I don't think the lss2 shows as a option on the device list the unit is suppose to recognize it when it's plugged in..Have you save your routes,Wpts,ect to a SD card and tried a hard reset?

May come to that .Couple of things to try 1st. Have to remember how to do hard reset.

Not sure if it makes a differents,but have you loaded the latest software...the one with the GPS/roll over fix.

IIRC the unit will not recognize 2 Structurescan sources at once. Try going back into your installation settings a n select "generic 83/200" instead of the HDI transducer. I think this will allow you to get 2d from the HDI transducer and side and downscan from the LSS2 transducer.

You may be correct. I was using just the single transducer after I first installed on new boat so I had selected the dual transducer so I'd have 2D and downscan. I was remembering last night that in the dual transducer arrangement it used the LSS2 for both SI and DI.
I'm going try that today.

That was it! I thought about this possibility last night and when I saw your comment I was almost sure that was the problem. I emailed Lowrance last night after their tech couldn't help me asking them if this might be the issue. Your response was enough for me to try without waiting to hear from them.
