1/32oz. Head is what I use.
I use them when the fish are in the flats/shallow water at Talquin. Last June at Talquin, the winning weight came with Road Runner type jigs. The next day (Monday), I had 3 over 2 lbs and they came off of double road runners.......they are still swimming.

I use them early in the year. They seem to go deep really well and the spinner sometimes makes a difference with getting bites. I usually put tubes or curly tails on them. I always put one or two out when I am trolling in January or February. Wes
I have tried them a few times but usually only catch stripers. I will be trying them again this year.
Striper, I know he failed to mention. But to me the best heads to use that is similiar to a road runner is made by LIGHTWIREHOOKER. He calls his Pony's. Quality is great and they are made with a light wire hook. I fished Talquin last June as well with a lot of success using them.
I don't spider rig but I do use 2 or 3 in the mix when long line trolling. 1/32 oz is what I use ,and I've used all sorts of bodies with them.On a success rate my opinion would be about a 5 out of 10 (on account of the linesides)
I don't spider rig either, but I alway have a road runner tied on in the mix, and I will have to say that the runner out catches the other jigs for me just about every time. Plus I always seem to get the excitment of hooking into a largemouth or two on light line. I can't argue with that too much.
