For the last 3 days, I have beaten the banks with a beetle spin and also fished my favorite brush piles without a single bite! I have used both shiners and jigs.
Water temps have been around 64-65 degrees.
Anyone else been out here lately?

I bet fishervet caught them all......yeh, thats it :biggrin :fish
In North La most of the Crappie in 8 to 12 foot of water suspended 2 feet off the bottom. with the water temp in that range they could be at 4 feet. Just shallow enough for the most expensive sonar to be useless for seeing fish
The same is true for Cypress we only found 2 near the brush
in shallow and on the flats
didnt see or hear of anyone doing real good
But God sure had provided some beautiful weather
Me and dad have been out there almost a week straight. Pull up to a spot and catch one or two right off the bat, and then nothing else. Move to another spot, and repeat. Best bite has been a hour or so before dark. It’s really picking my brain to know these fish are ready to spawn and have been (by looking at their eggs) for a month now. We fished today on cypress from about 11- 7:30. Caught 12. We even hit some deeper brush piles and picked up 2 good slabs in 14 FOW. These fish don’t know what to do, or they’re just out smarting me again.
Seen 37 on the cleaning table from Cypress yesterday...said they were all 1-3 ft, jig under a cork.
I get nearly daily reports from Cypress and for the last month, they're tearing them up in 4 fow or less. Mostly on shiners, but the jig under a cork still working.
Attachment 337216 cypress lake in Benton Friday. Reeds and grass 1-3 ‘ of water. Shiners or jigs.
