When I visit family in Kenosha they always take me to Lake Delvan and we do pretty good for Crappie. It's just past Lake Geneva on HWY 50. You can take it off of I-94 that runs through Kenosha. I am not sure if there are any rental cabins there or not. Hope this helps even though I don't live in WI anymore.
I would recommend Geneva. There are some beauts in that fine lake. It's close to delavan-you could fish both of them on your trip. Each lake has nice panfish, walleye, pike, and bass.

Lake Geneva has a good population of crappie in the Williams Bay area and the lake has a good population of large Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass and big Northerns. There are also bluegills 9+ inches in the lake.
if you end up at delavan or geneva, wich are both superb lakes, they both get a lot of traffic. you'll do best to get on early and off early, depending on the weather that is. you'll get three foot waves on a calm day if the weather is warm. geneva is a crystal clear lake, blues and silvers work well. good luck, and have fun!
The lakes in the Hayward, Wisconsin area have very good crappie fishing from Mid-April to Memorial weekend as a rule. I have lived in the area myself for 20 years. While owning a business myself with two others started an annual crappie fishing contest on Lost Land, Teal and Ghost Lakes. The area is known as the Quiet Lakes - no ski or jet ski. You can find information for the area at one of my sites if you wish at Hayward Wisconsin Events.
