Okeechobee Report 12-5-21
Hey fellas!
Went down to my dad's last weekend and we fished Friday night in his basin of the river and then all day Saturday out in the lake. The bite was steady, but we still had to work for them. Friday night we sat up on a spot along the edge of the river and fished minnows and jigs late afternoon until about 7PM. They turned on pretty good right before dark and then they turned off completely.

Saturday we fished over towards Tin House and started pulling holes and jigging in hyacinths -- some up to 2ft high. We'd pull a few out here and there, then migrate 10ft over or so and pull more holes. Rinse and repeat. Old man did far superior to me Saturday, though! They certainly weren't jumping in the boat just yet, but we still had fun and the weather was nice. Seems like as it gets cooler we'll get some better numbers in all that cover and more consistently. It all looks fantastic.

Still had the usual folks lined up along the sides of the river outside of Scott Driver, which we stopped and poked around in for a couple fish. There was a tournament going on though and anyone that's fished that river mouth knows it gets rocky with the extra traffic coming in and out of there. Needless to say we didn't stick around too long as their weigh-in approached.
Many more trips planned as the season gets better, though! I'll follow up on those trips as well. :santa
