Nice! I’ bagged a half dozen scattered across the lake today. Water was 50 degrees on the nose. The ones I could get to bite were about 25 fow. Attachment 394060

Big cold snap coming mid to late next week. Wonder if that affect the spawn that much.

It's been slow at Joe Pool Lake. Most days have been too windy to fish the main lake. The slips have been slow, not many fish in them for the last two weeks. I caught 4 crappie Thursday and 5 crappie today from my slips. Nice size on the crappie today, 11-13 inches but the moment the North wind picked up they stopped bitting.
The water temp today was 51.8 degrees, the fish were found between 12-15 ft in 16 foot of water at the slips.
the other day we had a wind change and the fish STOPPED just like that
we sat there about 30 minutes and low and behold they turned back on
sometimes they just stop for a few if they are there in numbers
I kept trying for 2 1/2 hours before the increasing cold forced me to call it quits. Of course, they were not there in numbers, in fact, there were very few showing on Livescope before they stopped bitting and even less when the wind shifted. But those first 45 minutes were a lot of fun. :)
that there water temp is likely to go south this weekend
It was 50.8 last before 7 pm last night Don't know what it is today as I have not been brave enough to go to the lake as it is cold and windy.
