LOZ Questions

Getting down to lake this weekend, finally! Plan to do some fishing - my question is this; are we better off to try to find some cover out on lake and spider rig minnows/jigs (we don't really have a spider rig set up - would just each hold a couple poles out the front of boat) - or long line troll maybe some roadrunners out the back; or even just cast and reel some jigs around the shoreline or brush piles

Not sure if there is a pattern starting yet or not, hoping to get my son onto some fish. I am pretty sure we can catch some around our dock, but want to get out on the water - been too long
