What a day
Went to my lake today from 2pm till 6 pm. Caught a bucket load of bream and gills. Most were in shallow water, 5 foot or less. Caught some on boat docks in 12 to 14 foot.

Caught some swimming a 1/32 road runner with a Bobby Garland ittybitty swimmer in electric chicken.

Caught the biggest ones on a tiny minnow bait, not sure what brand. It’s been in my bag for a while. I saw Richard Gene using one on YouTube and thought since I had one I would try it.

At first I tried to work it like a jerk bait with no luck. But I noticed when reeling it in it swam with a nice wobble, so I tried that and they liked it.

Now the bad news. It was windy today after the front came through this morning and once when I was trying to cast parallel to a dock, the wind blew my jig onto the dock. I don’t like leaving hooks and things on peoples docks, so I trolled over to get it. Yes, I fell out of the boat and my newest favorite rod is now 14 foot down in the lake. I made it back in the boat, but I couldn’t save the rod. It was my new TFO ultralight.
Anyway, it was a great catching day.

just take a pole with heavier line/big sinker and go back and snag your pole.. nice fish also.

Maybe a stong magnet. Possibly enough metal in the reel to stick to the magnet

Nice fish, and I’d go back after the rod too.

swimming in 70 or less water temps aint fun and losing a rod at the same time is surely not good .
but it looks like the ketchn went really well. and yes sir a bream just cant stand a real slow moving methodical retrieve
congrats on some beautiful bluegill bro

Nice fish, hope you find the rod!

Nice catch. Sorry about the rod. One of the best ways I’ve seen to try and recover one is to take the old style metal stringers......open up all the clips on it and start casting it out around the area.

Nice day besides the unplanned swim. I bet you can snag and recover the rod like others have suggested. It may take a little while but you will get it.
