It's getting to be that time to place an order to restock the plastics for spring before the big rush. So what's everyone's favorite color or colors of the Baby Shad? And which would be best for clear water?

i like the tuxedo shimmer or whatever. also watermelon wine i think its called.
I've caught fish on just about all of them. Cajun criket seems to be one of my go to's though.
My favorite for clear to lightly stained water is this one :

Custom made by Microspoons, but no longer available from them. I had Snake River (Bob's Jigs) make me some clones, and they're working just fine !!
You might also want to look at some of the plastics custom made by some of our members. They can be seen in threads on the DIY Soft Plastics forum. http://www.crappie.com/crappie/forum...-Soft-Plastics
Members like Snake River, RonDon, CTom, and others are always posting pics of their plastic baits, any one of which would compete with the products put out by the major commercial plastic bait companies ... and are likely cheaper in price !!

Tuxedo shimmer, BBQ chicken, Watermelon wine, Lights out (new), Patriot, Blue Ice, Cajun Cricket. Don't forget about the Slab Slayers and the Wiggl'R... all great baits!!
Thanks guys!
What kind jigs do you guys use with the baby shad? I'm going to order some also for a trip to KY lake.
I catch plenty of fish on a plain 1/16 oz. head.
I use 1/32 & 1/16oz weedless jigheads, primarily ones with a Y guard, but occasionally ones with the fiber brush style weedguard. I have Grousefly make them for me, with a #2 Aberdeen hook :

The ones I use are on the top row ... the one in the center & the one to the right of it (the Y guard version)
Originally, I had them made with #4 Aberdeen hooks, and they worked fine. I went to a larger hook when I started using plastic bodies that were "bigger or bulkier" than a 1.5" tube.

hard to go wrong with a roadrunner jighead. You can fish them any way you want too. http://www.ttiblakemore.com/home/vm?...d=23&TreeId=40
