Is live bait (crickets/shiners) available at the local boat launches at Old River in Morganza? If not, will need to stop on the way from Port Barre to load up.
Also, are there other boat launches available other than Old River Landing?

The Mississippi River starts coming into Ol River when Baton Rouge reading is around 14/15 feet.
There is another public landing west/northwest of Ol River landing…I think it’s called Miss. Peggy’s or Peggy’s. And there is another landing that I think the public can use even further in that same direction; it is where an old restaurant “Bonanza “, used to be…but I really wouldn’t recommend it.
The La. Express in Morganza usually has live bait of all kinds…and a pretty good stock of jigs and other fishing accessories.
