Another HB question
Ok so I have my console and bow unit connected with the bow unit using the console unit ducer. I’m wanting to mark a spot with the console and be able to see the spot at the bow, but I’m wanting to use a ducer on my trolling motor to see what I’m looking at. So, is it possible to share the waypoints but use a separate ducer?

Yes ethernet allows sharing Waypoints (regardless of xducer configuration) ...
Waypoints are created at the GPS antenna location (not at the xducer location) ...
Waypoints are more accurate (to the underwater structure seen on the display) if the GPS antenna in closer to the xducer that is providing the Sonar data ...
When units are ethernet connected - every GPS antenna available in the connected network (internal and external) will be listed under the Network Source Menu ...
It's a good idea to rename each head unit in the Network Menu to make listings in the Network Source Menu more recognizable (default head unit names are serial numbers and makes it challenging to know which unit is which in the listings) ...

So I can have the ethernet plus a different ducer hooked up to the 859 without having to use a port?

I'll jump in til Rickie gets back, but not sure what you mean by ... using a port. If you only have 2 units ... and not Ipilot link... You don't need a 5 port Ethernet switch. The Ethernet cable will connect the 2 units directly and you will only need an Ethernet adaptor cable ... depending on the unit models.
If the 859 is the bow unit the transducer will connect directly to the unit on a different connector. There is one transducer connector and one Ethernet connector on each unit.
