Todays Fishing.
Well i went to kellogg lake in in snohomish and had a cutthroat try to kill my spinnerbait. Then I went to my "secret" slough and caught bass while i was trying to catch crappie. My little brother hooked a crappie that was big enough to brake his sissy-light "finesse" line.Pretty good day of fishing for the bad unstable weather.

sounds like a good day to me now you have convinsed me to go try that lake. I don't know when but it is going to have to be soon. caus i need to do some fish'n.
-
Yeah i went yesterday and already have withdrawls and need to go fishing again.
-
I know what you are talking about. I get headaches from it and I start to shake.
-
LOL no kidding i understand completely. Im going back to my slough some time soon though with crappie stuff and im gonna eat crappie. lots and lots of em. Yesterday they could have been caught on a fly rod they were smashing bugs on top like it was summer.
-
sounds like i need to start following you around to find this "slough". good luck with it.

headin up this weekend to an island in the san juans, the islands got two lakes one has the first bass population in washington and the others got some big rainbows and huge browns. i always have trouble catching bass this time of year because they are so inacive, wuts the best cold water technique for bass?
-
would those two lakes happen to be egg lake and sportsmans lake? Well at this time of year i have done good with a crankbait with a tight wiggle just make sure that it comes in contact with cover. Jigs work good to. But you need to fish your baits slow. and during the pre spawn and into the spawn i have found that bigger baits seem to get more strikes.Or is the lake cranberry?

As far as bass go slow rolling spinnerbaits would work just fine if its cloudy. If its a sunny day go with a Hula Grub and a 1/8th ounce jig head. A rank bait that suspends stopped over cover will work good too, and like Kokanee King said a jig will work good too.If the water is still really cold go with a deep diving suspending jerkbait or a drop shot rig.

thanks for the tips guys! the two lakes are actually called horseshoe lake and spencer lake and are on blakely island
