Ultralight Smallies
Looked at another stretch of creek yesterday and decided to give it a try today even though we had some storms come through overnite. Water was a bit clouded and running stronger than usual. Was able to get two good hours in before the T-storms moved back in. Went up a size in split shot from #3/0 to a #7 about a foot above bait to slow the drift and seemed to work. Nothing real big but nice fish on the TFO ultralight rod. Caught quite a few real small ones (3"-5"), and nothing but Smallmouths today. Here's pics of the better ones and a few creek pictures.Attachment 432436Attachment 432437Attachment 432438Attachment 432440Attachment 432441Attachment 432442Attachment 432443Attachment 432444Attachment 432445Attachment 432446

I like those fish! They have such an attitude when they’re that size. Great looking stream. I’d have to get a pair of hip waders and go for a walk.
