Went out today for a few hours on Murray. Found the perch mid lake 30 to 60 feet deep. Caught 27 and 7 short stripers. Used 2 1/4 inch jigs. Missing my fishing buddy

Ray was a special person. And you are right never a dull moment.
Nice catch yes all of us that knew Ray really miss him. Sent you a pm
Thanks Gadabout for the report and Yep, SeaRay probably caught one or two of those fish for you. :biggrin
I miss Ray also. I spent a lot of hours in the my boat and his, fishing in Broadwater, Sparkleberry , Santee and Florida. It was so funny the day my "Hi Dollar" rod slid off his boat when he powered it up when we were fishing Willey. We both talked always joked about someone finding it.. I spend a lot of days staying with Ray in the cabins at Santee. The trip to Florida was a week of great fun. When he passed, I was fighting for my life with the virus and almost didn't make it. Ray would call a lot of times to meet at "our" greasy spoon on Fridays to go down and have a big plate of spaghetti together. Ray was a real fun time to be with, I miss hearing his calls just to chat.
Glad you were able to beat that virus...I havent been able to fish in a couple years but am planning to go down on Broadwater for sure and catch a few this spring...take care.
I'm just waiting for it to settle down and stay below flood stage for 2 or 3 weeks myself.
