Need help. My helix 15 mega SI accidentally got turned on when I put the cover back on. Stayed on until battery died. Now I have no temp and SI has a bad picture. Down image is perfect. Can TX overheat? Any help or suggestions welcome.

Yes they can overheat. Turning it on out of water can lead to overheating which can cause the pulse crystals to crack. I would call HB-Johnson 18006331468 and have you model and serial numbers available. They may replace it under warranty with what they call a one time courtesy replacement. Fingers crossed!
Thank you , I will try that
I feel too it could have overheated transducer. Those heavy rubber covers on the Humminbirds are bad about turning on units when installing cover.
Push power button once and arrow down to sonar and shut the transducer off before you power it down. If it does accidentally come on the transducer won't be on.

An easy fix for this issue of the rubber cover accidentally pushing the HELIX power button ...
Super glue a rubber o-ring to the inside of the rubber cover large enough to encircle (and protect) the HELIX power button ...

I always unhook the power cable once I power it down and put on the rubber cover. I never transport my boat with the HB attached.
Just a follow up on my transducer. It has a Crack all the way down one side from overheating. Once again HB is awesome. Sent me a new one on them. And I told them it was my fault. Won't happen again as I installed a master shut off . Once all is powered down.
