I've always used my name and conservation number to label my rods. Now that I'm 65 and no longer need to purchase a basic fishing and small game license, is my conservation number still valid? Is it still acceptable to use for labeling rods?

I 2nd that. Your conservation number is still used for deer tags etc. so must remain valid.
Yes your conservation number is still valid. The only thing age exempts you from is fishing and small game hunting licenses. You would still need migratory bird to hunt ducks, deer and turkey tags and a trout permit to keep trout in waters that aren't trout parks. When you turn 60 its worth it to spend the money to get a lifetime conservation partner permit for $70. It includes:Resident Hunting and Fishing Permit, Trout Permit, Migratory Bird Hunting Permit and Conservation Order Permit.
